I completely agree that the purchase of gold, or premade characters or ingame items with real world money is a distortion of the point of the game. Some of my most enjoyable times playing WoW has been the evolution from a new character to a seasoned adventurer.
I don’t like that there are people out there who feel they need these services, but what I really **** is the vultures who provide them. They feed on the feelings of inadequacy these younger (by level) players feel when they see the more seasoned players achieving great things.
Also, if there were fewer (read none) of these gold farmers around, Blizzard might be able to lower the prices for the elite mounts and such to a reasonable price, putting them back in the reach of casual gamers who don’t want to resort to goldvendors

Making gold in this game really is not that hard, it’s just most people have no clue how to do it. The addition of daily quests has made gold very easy to get and is one of the reasons I have seen the price of gold go down so much. 2 years ago I remember gold costing around $60-$100, now it sells around $25 and that’s for 1000 gold.
Laziness really does play into people buying gold or leveling services, I know that one of the reasons my friend uses leveling services is because he has leveled up about 4 characters to 70 and is just tired of the grind it takes to level another character up. I have been in that same situation before where I just dont want to go through the grind again of leveling another character, but dont buy the services because I dont like spending that kind of money for something I could do myself.
And yes, it is very funny to see someone that is a high level asking where something is that they should have known months ago. It’s also funny to see some characters filled with BoE blues, or epics, instant sign of a gold buyer.
